Training & Development for Mental Health and Substance Abuse Treatment Providers

October Road, Inc. provides high quality and cost effective training to the people who most impact the outcome of the organization's mission: the front line staff. We offer competency driven curriculum designed to improve our clinician's effectiveness, wellness programs to assist in stress management and employee wellness and holistic growth expertise.

Evidence-based practices are packaged into training sessions that give the clinician the empowerment and skills development needed to bring about recovery in the client population. Wellness and time management programs provide a mechanism for management to maintain the health and productivity of their teams.


WHERE:  October Road Inc., 119 Tunnel Road. Suite B., Asheville, NC 28805. Workshops are held in the downstairs meeting room, Suite B.

Take 240 west to exit 6 (Tunnel Road/Chunns Cove). Exit left to end of road and turn left. Travel to light and turn left. Pass Applebee's on right and turn into parking lot between Applebee's & Olive Garden. Travel to back of parking lot and you will see large white concrete building on left. Enter into Asheville Eye Clinic entrance and turn left. If you are coming from 240 east at exit 6 (Tunnel Road/Chunns Cove) travel to light and turn right. Olive Garden and Applebee's will be on your immediate left. Turn left into parking lot between the two restaurants. Travel to back of parking lot and you will see a large white concrete building on left. Enter into Asheville Eye Clinic entrance and turn left.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:  Workshops are created for adult learners who are working in behavioral health or substance abuse. Interactive learning supports integration of information and skills. (NBCC and NCSAPPB contact hours applied for) All written materials are available on the day of the workshop. Literary resources are available for your perusal. Snacks, water and coffee are included. Have you taken a training in Motivational Interviewing (MI) but struggled with how to apply your practice? Interested in learning more advanced skills? This is a small training opportunity and spots are limited. Certificates of completion for 1.5 hours per seminar will be provided to participants for use toward licensing contract hours if desired.     Cancellations Policy:

    • Refunds are given with a 24-hour notice of cancellation and include a $10.00 service charge. If before 24 hours, no service charge will be added.
    • We must have five paid participants in order to hold the class. Any less than this a week prior to the class behind held, the class will be cancelled and refunds will be given without service charges.
    • In case of inclement weather, please contact the office prior to your arrival to make sure the class is being held as described as there may be a delay. If a class is rescheduled due to inclement weather, participants will have the option of attending the next scheduled class or receiving a refund (no service charge will be applied.)



      October Road, Inc. is an NBCC-Approved Continuing Education Provider (ACEP) and may offer NBCC-approved clock hours for events that meet NBCC requirements. The ACEP solely is responsible for all aspects of the program.
