Treatment for Veterans

October Road offers substance use treatment programs for both veterans and non-veterans. Although October Road is not solely a veteran program, our staff understand the role of military trauma in substance use disorders and are equipped to care for veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Attending mixed population groups alongside non-veteran clients can be beneficial for recovery, helping clients to develop skills for re-integrating into civilian life after the military. Veteran PTSD looks similar to what is seen in individuals with non-military trauma, and the same treatment methods can be applied.

October Road is a proud member of the Veterans Affairs Community Care Network (VA-CCN).

The VA-CCN is comprised of facilities that are approved to accept veteran benefits for behavioral health treatment, giving vets more timely and convenient access to care. The Community Care Network (CCN) uses industry-standard guidelines to administer treatment and pay for services.

To use your benefits through the VA-CCN, you will need to secure both an authorization from the VA and a doctor’s referral. Most people get these by visiting their home county VA office to meet with a primary care doctor. Talk to your doctor about getting a referral to access the CCN for outpatient treatment at October Road.

At October Road, we make it a priority to get veterans the mental health or substance use treatment they need and deserve. Not all veterans are eligible for coverage via the VA-CCN, unfortunately. October Road is in-network with most commercial insurance and accepts Medicaid VAYA and self-pay.
