Our outpatient location in Walnut Cove, North Carolina serves adults whose use of alcohol, opioids or other substances has had a negative impact on their life.  After an initial assessment, our team will make a recommendation on how we can best address your specific situation.  Treatment may consist of counseling, medication management, support groups and more. This in-person service includes both individual and group therapy sessions, as well as a variety of skills-based groups for support and education.

Intensive outpatient programs allow participants to continue addiction treatment at a medical facility while living in their own home. Clients come to the medical center several times a week to continue treatment and meet with care providers then return home at the end of the day. Here are some of the benefits to our outpatient addiction program.

IOP is often useful for clients who have already completed a residential program and wish to continue their treatment while transitioning to life in the outside world. Alternatively, some people feel that they will be better served by starting their treatment at an outpatient facility.

Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) is a program designed to help clients who are recovering from physical addictions that cause dangerous withdrawal symptoms. There are several non-addictive medications that can curb cravings and manage symptoms. At October Road, MAT is facilitated by a nurse practitioner, physician’s assistant or psychiatrist. Managing these physical symptoms is a vital treatment step and allows the client to focus on other aspects of their recovery. As part of MAT, we provide individual therapy and a life-skills group from a masters-level therapist.
